Lando Norris, the recently crowned 2015 MSA Formula Champion, will compete in the final four Duo BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy races at Brands Hatch this weekend (November 14/15) with HHC Motorsport. Norris turns 16 this Friday and therefore becomes eligible to race in BRDC F4, and the Bristol-born youngster has rejoined the Harrogate squad with whom he won the 2014 Ginetta Junior Rookie Cup last year.
Norris is one of the most exciting talents in British motorsport, with his victory in the 2014 CIK-FIA KF World Championship making him the youngest karting world champion in history. Prior to that, he won the WSK Euro Series and claimed the CIK FIA European and CIK FIA Supercup titles in 2013. He stepped up to car racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2014, alongside his karting commitments, where he finished as top rookie and third in the overall standings.
That preceded a move into single-seater racing in 2015, where he claimed eight wins en route to the MSA Formula title with Carlin. He will now contest the final four races in the Autumn Trophy with HHC Motorsport, who ran Will Palmer to 12 victories and the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 title this year. He will join Sisa Ngebulana and Sennan Fielding in the team’s line up at Brands Hatch.
Norris said: “It is going to be a learning weekend for me at Brands Hatch. I’ve never driven the car and I will be getting in the Tatuus-Cosworth for the first time this Friday, having returned straight from Italy. Although I will be trying my hardest to win, it will be difficult against the drivers with more experience in the car so I want to learn as much as possible and this is definitely good preparation for next year.”
Charlie Kemp, Team Principal of HHC Motorsport, added: “It is great to have Lando rejoin us for the final round of the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy. We know how talented he is after taking the 2014 Ginetta Junior Rookie Cup with him and it is fantastic to see him with us in BRDC Formula 4 now that he is old enough to compete."
