BERWICK have announced returns to Shielfield Park for captain Kevin Doolan and Danish star Thomas Jorgensen in 2016.And the Bandits have completed their line-up with the inclusion of local youngster Liam Carr as their 3.00 British rider at reserve. They join previous signings Sebastian Alden, Anders Mellgren, Matthew Wethers and Theo Pijper, with the club making Argentinean rider Coty Garcia available to ride elsewhere in the Premier League.Director George Hepburn said: “This is probably the quickest we have ever been in the close season in getting our full seven man squad sorted for the next term and to be honest we are delighted with the shape of the team.“It is built on similar lines to the successful 2014 septet which finished fourth in the Premier League table and reached the play-offs and the final three jigsaw pieces have fitted in very smoothly, probably because they all wanted to ride for Berwick!”

MARTIN Knuckey will return to ride for Coventry Storm in the National League next season.Knuckey was one of the success stories for the Storm in 2015, taking over a heat-leader role and also the team captaincy after Dan Greenwood was injured in late August, and he finished with a 6.78 average.Manager Laurence Rogers said: “Marty really matured as a rider in 2015, and the progress he made was phenomenal.“I feel moving to Coventry last winter made a huge difference to him, he didn’t have six or seven hours in a van before he arrived at the stadium, and that meant he was fresh and happy before racing. I expect 2016 is going to be a very big year for Marty.”4. William Wagner / Kevin Parent +40:09.3
