REBELLION Racing secured their sixth LMP1 Privateer Pole Position of the season for the 6 Hours of Bahrain race, the closing round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship.
Alexandre Imperatori and Dominik Kraihamer in the Rebellion R-One AER #13 were the fastest of the LMP1 Privateers in front of the sister car #12 driven by Nicolas Prost and Mathias Beche.Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori achieved an average lap time of 1:46.666 and a fastest lap of 1:46.198.
With the qualifying lap times achieved by the REBELLION Racing drivers, the two Rebellion R-One AER cars will start tomorrow's race from the fourth row on the grid.
Mathias Beche topped the whole field with the best top speed of the event so far during the qualifying session with a 294.5 km/h recorded during his fastest lap. Domink Kraihamer was second in top speed with 292.9 km/h.
Alexandre Imperatori - Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « I am pleased with what we achieved today, it’s our third Pole position in a row. The key will be tomorrow, it’s the most important day of the weekend. I hope it will continue this way tomorrow for the race and that we will be able to win it and gain a 1-2 finish in the championship for the team. That’s our target. »
Dominik Kraihamer - Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « It’s good to end the season with an other LMP1 Privateer Pole Position. This Pole provides us with confidence for tomorrow’s race. I had a scary moment in the first corner of my flying lap, but I could complete the lap the right way. I want to thank our crew and our engineers they did a great job in improving our car after FP3 to get this result in the qualifying session. »
Bart Hayden - REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « We can be pleased with today's qualifying session result. Car #13’s starting position on the grid is the one the drivers and the crew wanted. They are third in the championship going into tomorrow’s race and they need to be in front at the end of the race to secure the second place in the team championship. We aim for a trouble free race tomorrow. We won the FIA WEC Endurance Trophy for LMP1 Teams at the previous round in China, but we want to close the season on a high in Bahrain.»
