Auto GP has announced the 2016 edition of the series. The series will compete on the major racetracks Italian in six events with double race. The opening round is scheduled for Misano on April 10 in conjunction with the first race of the Blancpain GT Series. With the same category Auto GP will race also on April 24 at Monza. The season will continue in conjunction with the Italian championships. May 29 Auto GP will be at Imola (Italian GT Championship and F.4). July 3, Auto GP will race in Magione (Italian Prototypes Championship and Italian Touring Car Championship). Then it will be back together with the Italian GT Championship at Vallelunga on 11 September and 16 October at Mugello, end of the season.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the 2016 season, Torino Squadra Corse team tested on Adria track with the Mexican driver Luis Michael Dorrbecker.
