Speedway Champ Tai reveals book plans

BRITAIN’S double-winning World Speedway Champion Tai Woffinden is ready to tell the amazing story of his life so far – in his autobiography.Woffinden has signed a deal with John Blake Books, one of the biggest publishers in the UK.

John Blake Books have spotted opportunities for autobiographies with several celebrities – including ‘Being Jordan’ by Katie Price, Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan and George Cole’s brilliant ‘The World is My Lobster’.

With a tentative release date of early 2017, the book will detail Tai's life to date - including his unconventional childhood, getting through the death of his father and then winning two world titles.

The book will be stocked in national retailers and will be ghost-written by Peter Oakes, arguably the finest and most prolific writer in the history of the sport.

Said Woffinden: “This is such an exciting opportunity for me and it means a lot to be able to work with John Blake Books and Peter Oakes.“It’s not only exciting for me but for the sport of Speedway in general, hopefully something like this raises publicity levels once again.“I’ve had an amazing life so far and I’m grateful that people believe the story is worth putting in my own book.“We will be keeping my fans up to date on progress of the book, but it’s certainly something I feel excited about."We felt it was important to go to a mainstream publisher and ensure that we can reach out to a wider audience. "You can go into any national bookstore in the UK and you'll see hundreds of John Blake books and I'm really excited about getting my book on those same shelves."
