2016 first event. The legendary Rally Raid and Sparco, a brand that certainly could not to miss out giving its support. Sparco starts the new year with a massive presence in Dakar Rally, which kicks off on January 2nd from Rosario, Argentina, and finishes 14 days later in the same town, after about 10.000 kilometers spread between Argentina and Bolivia. An historical presence for Sparco, in the 2016 motorsport's opening event. Sparco is ready to cross the Andes, along the steep streets of the "new South American Dakar", alongside the most important teams and drivers.
Many teams and drivers choose the Italian excellence to jump into the cockpit of their cars, trucks and buggies to face one of the most famous and toughest motorsport competition. Let's start from Team Peugeot Total Red Bull that will field their four aces for Dakar 2016: the nine time WRC Champion Sébastien Loeb, the eleven time Dakar Champion Stéphane Peterhansel, the two time WRC Champion and winner of 2010 Dakar, Carlos Sainz and the five time Dakar Champion in motorbike, Cyril Despres. If on one hand there is the official Peugeot 3008, on the other hand Sparco will be partner of the X-Raid Team that will field 12 MINI All4 Racing in Dakar 2016. Spearheads of the German team: Nani Roma, 20 times in Dakar Rally (9 motorbike, 11 car), Orlando Terranova, on his 10th participation and Mikko Hirvonen, on his debut in Dakar. The equipment for the X-Raid Team drivers and co-drivers includes: X-Light RS-7 suit, Arrow RG-7 gloves and Formula RB-9 shoes.
The trucks challenge is also ready to start, with the former winner Team Kamaz that will field 4 "Desert's Giants", ready to give battle to stay at the top with Sparco. As well as for Petronas Team De Rooy that will face Dakar 2016 with 2 Iveco Powerstar driven by Gerard De Rooy and Hans Stacey, and one Iveco Trakker Evolution 2 driven by Pep Vila. Drivers, co-drivers and mechanics will wear Extrema RS-10 and X-Light RS-7 suits. Volpiano's brand will also be partner of Nederland's team VEKA and wears Albert Llovera on Czech team Bonver's TATA truck.
Massive presence even with buggies, where Sparco will manage the preparation of the French Team Xtreme Plus Polaris RZR1000XT +30 and will dress the Italo-Spanish crew formed by Eugenio Amos and Rafael Tornabell as well as the 2 SDF Team crews formed by Jean Pascal Besson - Patrice Roissac and Lionel Baud – Thierry Dezeiraud.
