KENT have named former Rye House stalwart Luke Bowen as their new No.1 and captain for the 2016 National League season.Bowen previously rode for Kings co-promoter Len Silver at Hoddesdon, and he will be joined at Central Park by the returning David Mason, back with the club after a year away, whilst the eight-man squad also includes Danno Verge and newcomer Connor Locke.Manager Chris Hunt said: “Luke is a major capture for the club and is surely destined to become one of the League's top performers.“David is now fully fit and in daily training following his serious leg injury sustained at Central Park last season. It was the punishing training schedule which David set for himself which convinced us to include him, plus his sheer enthusiasm for the Kings.“Our two new teenagers Jack (Thomas) and Connor have been placed under full contracts following very promising career beginnings.”The Kings have also confirmed an extension to their main team sponsorship deal with Street Life Young Drivers’ Education (SLYDE), who are to become more involved with presentation and publicity at the club as well as assisting in the upgrade of track equipment.
