Barwell names Minshaw and Keen aboard first Huracan for 2016

MSA British GT Championship Teams’ Champions Barwell Motorsport will continue with drivers Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen in 2016.

The British GT Championship will run exclusively on Pirelli tyres next season, and Barwell will be running their all-new Lamborghini Huracans in the series.

Minshaw and Keen had a strong end to 2014 but suffered bad luck in some early 2015 races. Three podium finishes marked them out as a raid combination though, and they’re both focused on working with Barwell Motorsport and Pirelli to get their Huracan up to speed.

Minshaw has tested the car already, at Vallelunga in Italy. “I’m really glad to be back with Barwell in one of their new Lamborghini Huracans,” he said. “British GT is probably the best national championship in Europe, and this year Phil and I will be going all out to try and win the title.”

Keen added: “It’s great to be back on board with Barwell and to partner Jon again in BGT,” he said. “The start of 2015 wasn't kind to us, so I’m hoping we can set off where we left of at the end of the season. I feel Jon is one of the best Amateur drivers on the grid and with Barwell behind us we will be aiming for the title in 2016!”
