LEICESTER have announced the signing of Nicolai Klindt for a second spell with the club this season.Danish rider Klindt made 14 Elite League appearances for the Lions in 2014 and helped them to a six-match unbeaten run of results at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium, finishing the campaign third in their averages.Manager Norrie Allan said: “If there is one objective we must work towards in 2016 that is to increase our win ratio at home. “Over the last two seasons we have only managed to win fifty per cent of the fixtures so that has to change if we are to build upon last year’s sixth place finish, and Nicolai’s form at Leicester was a deciding factor in our search to complete the team.“He is a model professional and I look forward to working with Nicolai again.”

SCUNTHORPE have moved to fill the void left by Taylor Poole’s retirement – with the signing of their track record holder Nicolai Klindt. The deal for Klindt, who now has team places in both Elite and Premier Leagues after also joining Leicester, is likely to be a short-term move before the Polish season gets underway.Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Nicolai has agreed to start the season for us. He has Polish commitments, so it's likely to be a temporary arrangement, as we are riding on Sundays this season. But for the first few weeks of the season, it's not a problem.“Zdenek Holub is on an assessed average, and will gain a proper average within the first month of the season.“We want Zdenek to go out there and score as many points as possible; but, realistically, his average will initially drop from 7.00. Once he's got his new average, we will assess the situation, and make the decision of how we progress from there. We do have some idea of what we plan to do.”

RYE House say they are closing in on a new signing after Nicolai Klindt elected not to join the club.Klindt had been announced in the line-up for the Hoddesdon side but subsequently signed for fellow Saturday track Leicester in the Elite League.Rye House owners Team BMR said: “We are obviously very disappointed about Nicolai’s decision, although we do appreciate the personal opportunity it has presented for him to race again in the Elite League. At the end of the day, to force someone to ride somewhere he doesn’t want to would be counter-productive.“We are, however, close to naming a replacement rider, and are looking to make an announcement in this regard within the next week or so, as soon as his visa paperwork has been ratified.”
