LAKESIDE have announced the returns of Richard Lawson and Piotr Swiderski to Purfleet for the 2016 season.Lawson will be going into his fourth successive season with the club whilst Swiderski rejoins the Hammers on a bargain 3.87 average after a troubled spell with Leicester last year.Co-promoter Jon Cook said: “Richard has been a stand-out rider for us with his development being a real joy for our fans to witness, whilst Piotr had set his heart on being a Hammers rider again and to have him as number five in our averages gives us great strength in depth.“We're keen to run more of a squad this season to take advantage of the changes made at the BSPA and best cover for the unavoidable clashes that are the nature of modern speedway.”

PETERBOROUGH chief Ged Rathbone insists the long wait has been worthwhile to land one of his biggest winter targets.The Panthers have confirmed the capture of Danish star Nicklas Porsing to complete their team for the 2016 season, with the 23-year-old slotting into the line-up on a converted average of 6.58 for his debut Premier League season.Rathbone said: “Nicklas has been on our radar for several months and we're thrilled to have been able to strike a deal with him.“He could not be more determined to prove himself in the Premier League so much so that he has put it above riding in Poland. I feel sure he will quickly demonstrate that he is a top talent on an absolute steal of an average.“Nicklas impressed everyone when he guested for us on a couple of occasions last season and I can't wait to see him racing week in, week out in a Peterborough suit.”

SCUNTHORPE have installed Josh Auty as their new captain for the 2016 season.At the age of 25, Auty has a long history with the Scorpions having won back-to-back Conference League titles with the club back in 2006-07 and then the Premier League in 2012.Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I've spoken to Josh, and he is up for the challenge of being team captain. He not only wants a good season for himself, but also for Scunthorpe. “He has a wealth of experience of riding for the Scorpions, and I'm sure he will make a terrific leader. He is Scunthorpe Speedway through-and-through and our fans love him.“I'm looking for the Scorpions to have a successful season and to be in the mix for honours, and Josh is too.”

IPSWICH have agreed a new main team sponsorship deal with Tippers ‘R’ Us and will now be known as the tru7.com Witches.The Kesgrave-based company is part of the Truck ‘R’ Us group and there is a lengthy association between their MD Guy Nicholls and club promoter Chris Louis.Said Louis: “This is all great news for the club - I’ve known Guy for a long time, going back to my moto-cross days. We have always remained friends and he has been a huge help to our club over the years. I’m delighted his hugely successful local company is on board with us.“I would also like to say a big thank you to Sackers Recycling for their five years of excellent sponsorship and I’m glad they will still be involved with the club next season too.”

RYE House have handed a recall to 2015 Raiders rider Sam Woods in a late change to their National League team plans.Woods was not initially declared as a member of the Hoddesdon club's line-up but now takes the place of Danyon Hume.Rye House have stated that they have reached an impasse with Hume on a private contractual matter, and he will therefore not be racing for the club this year.
