Arenacross soars into Sheffield

The 2016 Monster Energy Arenacross championship hit dizzying heights in Sheffield at the weekend, thrilling fans with high-speed action as pro racers from the UK and around the world challenged for glory at the penultimate round of this year’s tour.

With six pro-class races on the bill, as well as adrenaline-pumping freestyle shows and junior and youth races too, the action was unrelenting, as was SR75-Molson Suzuki rider Thomas Ramette’s charge for victory.

The Frenchman won both of his heat races and then went on to win the night’s main event. It was his fifth main event win of the season, as he looks to win back-to-back championships for the first time in the series’ history.

Thomas Ramette said afterwards, “It was a really good night in Sheffield for me. The atmosphere was fantastic and the fans were great too. I hope we put on a good show for them. To take another main event win on my Suzuki is good for our championship chances. We’ve won half of the main events this year, so hopefully we can win one more and the championship in London.”

The 2016 Arenacross championship concludes in London at the Wembley Arena on Saturday 27 February.
