EDINBURGH have brought forward their season-opener against Elite League club Belle Vue by 24 hours. The meeting will now take place on the Monarchs’ normal race-night of Friday April 1 due to travel problems for some members of the visitors’ squad who have weekend commitments in Poland.Edinburgh co-promoter Alex Harkess said: “Belle Vue were in touch at the end of last week raising doubts about their ability to send the team to us that they had originally suggested. That concerned me as some of the prime attractions of their team could have been missing. “Rather that wait to see how it would develop we have taken the decision to move the date now, long before the event so that there is no confusion as we approach the opening night.”
