Century adds second Ginetta in Pirelli-backed British GT

The GT4 class of the British GT Championship continues to grow after Century Motorsport added a second Ginetta G55 to its plans for the 2016 season.

The team’s second car will be driven by Aleksander Schjerpen and Sean Byrne, alongside the previously-announced driver pairing of Anna Walewska and team principal Nathan Freke.

Schjerpen, from Norway, will be driving for Century for a third season, having finished second in the GT4 Silver Cup standings last year. Irishman Byrne moves into GT4 after six seasons in Caterham racing.

“I’m delighted that Century Motorsport is back in British GT4 with a two car team again this season,” said Freke. “Not only that, but I really believe we have two cars that can run at the front and challenge for the championship title.

British GT will be exclusively supplied by Pirelli from the 2016 season, which begins at Brands Hatch on 16-17 April.
