Round 1: Jon MacKenzie Autotest, 13 March

Richard Pinkney marked his return to the championship with an outright win at Curborough sprint course on Sunday.

On a bright and sunny day, Pinkney's Caterham went quicker and quicker to overhaul early leaders Paul Fobister, Dave Evans, and Gordon Clendinning. Dave Mosey’s Mini and Ian Chapman’s Riot joined the fray just before the lunchtime break, but after lunch Pinkney took the lead he was to hold to the end.

The final round of tests saw Dave Mosey charge up to second place behind Pinkney, and with Dave Evans making two mistakes, he allowed the two hard charging sports cars of Ian Chapman and Keith Walton to fourth and fifth overall behind the ever consistent Paul Fobister.
