Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus set for Mugello 12Hr

The Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG003 will take on the Italian circuit of Mugello this week as part of the 24H series.

SCG will run two cars over the race, which unlike other endurance championships will have four hours of racing on Friday and eight hours on Saturday before the winners are crowned at the podium ceremony at 17.45.

Drivers for this round are Manuel Lauck, Franck Mailleux, Andreas Simonsen, Felipe Laser, Thomas Mutsch and Jeff Westphal who will share driving duties across the 12 hours.

Felipe Laser said: “It will be the first official race for me at Team Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus also together with my new teammates for the following season. After some good tests I am curious to drive finally against some strong competitors.”

Jeff Westphal said: "Being involved closely with Ferrari North America for the past three years has afforded me the opportunity to visit the Chianti region as well as Mugello, but this will be a first for me on the circuit. Our SCG003c has been becoming more and more refined with each outing that we have, and I think that the fast transitional nature of Mugello will suit our car's strengths quite well. The team has been working tirelessly this winter to provide us with a historic 2016 campaign, and this is round one."

Thomas Mutsch said: "After the winter tests, I´m really looking forward to the first race in 2016 together with the whole team of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus! It will be my first time in Mugello - an interesting track with many fast direction changes, where we will have a good performance, I believe. The SCG003C did some great steps in driveability, which we will show in qualifying and the race."

Paolo Garella, Programme Director said: “We are very much looking forward to racing at Mugello to put all the work over winter into practice. Mugello is a demanding circuit so it will be a great test to see if the cars and the drivers are ready ahead of the big test at the Nurburgring 24 hours. This race is a slightly unusual format which will test the ability of the team and drivers.”

Free practice is on Friday between 09.15 and 10.45, followed by qualifying from 11.00 till 11.45. The first part of the race commences on Friday at 14.00, with the conclusion on Saturday from 09.30 till 17.30.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is a bespoke brand specialising in one-off sports cars, engineered by renowned Italian Paolo Garella. The SCG 003C is a fully-carbon car that combines GT3 looks with LMP technology, making it a formidable weapon on the track.
