British Club Race Meeting Kicks Off Rockingham's New Season

THE British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) heads back to Rockingham over the weekend of April 9/10, to raise the curtain to a new season of motorsport at the Northamptonshire circuit, with a great programme of races.

Joining BARC for the two-day meeting will be the Pickup Truck Championship, which always guarantees to deliver maximum excitement with the usual full-throttle American-style racing on Europe’s fastest racing circuit.

Always popular with the Rockingham crowd, spectators can expect bumper-to-bumper racing on the UK’s only banked Oval, with qualifying on Saturday followed by three hotly contested adrenalin-fuelled races on the Sunday.

In addition to the action from the Pickup Trucks, there will be at least eight further races on the International Super Sportscar Circuit courtesy of the Kumho BWM Championship, Classic Touring Car Championship, Carbon8 Hyundai Coupe Cup and Watt Electrical MGCC BCV8 Championship.

Celebrating its 29th year in British motorsport, the Kumho BWM Championship never fails to impress with its large grids and close racing. Open to all models of the German car, both past and present, this series provides competitors with the step up from track days to racing.

Bringing a touch of nostalgia to the race weekend, the Classic Touring Car Championship will definitely provide something for everyone as it turns back the clock to yesteryear with its collection of racing saloons from pre-1966 right through to the more modern era of 2005.

Also on the timetable are the Carbon8 Hyundai Coupe Cup and MG Car Club’s long established BCV8 Championship, which is the premier series for MGB and MGC racing, offering classes for the fully modified V8s to road going cars.

Advance adult tickets are priced at just £12 per day and admission for children aged 15 and under is FREE ensuring families can enjoy some of the best action from the British Club motor racing scene at an affordable price.

As always at Rockingham all tickets include access to a grandstand seat offering panoramic views of the entire circuit, the pit garage roof and race paddock, which means there are no hidden costs. The circuit prides itself on providing access to all motorsport fans, and those who are registered disabled can apply for a complimentary** admission ticket for their carer.

Advance tickets can be booked online at www.rockingham.co.uk or via the hotline on 01536 500500, option 1, until midday on Friday, April 8. Adult tickets will be available on the gate priced £16 per day
