Gulf Racing‏ comnpletes successful three day test

Gulf Racing concluded three days of testing at the circuit Paul Ricard on Monday, having covered more than 1800km of trouble free running in their newly upgraded Porsche 991 RSR GTE.

All three of the team’s drivers participated, first in the 2 day ‘Prologue’ official test days under the supervision of the FIA and ACO and then staying on to join a Toyota organised test at the French circuit.

Matt Beers (Team Manager):- ‘We spent 3 days initially testing systems and blowing the cobwebs off after a long winter break, all the drivers were keen to get behind the wheel and they got straight back into the groove. We covered a lot of ground in terms of our test programme, re-acquainting ourselves with the Michelin tyres and tuning the setup around the updates on the 2015 specification car (used in the AM class for 2016). In all it was a great test, I think the whole team are now happy to head back to the UK feeling ready for Silverstone in less than three weeks’ time.’

Gulf Racing will head down the road from their Milton Keynes base to Silverstone for the first round of the WEC later in April, hoping to emulate their success there 12 months ago when they won the 4 hrs of Silverstone in the 2015 ELMS GTE class.
