WITH 20TEN RACING FOR DONINGTON PARK ROUNDS
Craig Milner (Matlock) has confirmed he will return to the Renault UK Clio Cup for this weekend’s races (Sat 16/Sun 17 April) at Donington Park with the nearby Derby-based team 20Ten Racing.
Milner contested most of 2014’s championship with 20Ten. He is a former motorcycle racing champion and has also competed in a variety of single-make car categories including VWs and Ferraris.
The 53-year-old commented: “The numbers have grown significantly in the UK Clio Cup in the past 12 months and it’s a great spectacle again. I’m really looking forward to my weekend at Donington and maybe there will be more outings later in the season. I’m not going to be threatening too many of the younger names but maybe I can have a nice battle with Graham Field (Southwell), who’s actually a bit older than me, in the Masters class.”
20Ten Team Principal Simon Hunt said: “We’re delighted to have Craig back with us for Donington – he’s a thoroughly nice bloke and I suspect once he’s in the car we’ll really start to see his competitive side come out. He’ll certainly benefit from having two young team-mates in Sam Watkins (Swansea) and Tom Butler (Derby) – both of whom we believe can be towards the sharp end this weekend.”
Will Fewkes, Renault Sport’s UK Motorsport Championship Manager, added: “We very much welcome Craig back to the UK Clio Cup and of course his inclusion means our grid size from Brands Hatch – 23 cars, the biggest for an opening round in three years – is sustained. It’s also very nice to see 20Ten boosting their own line-up for their home event.”
Rory Green (Hildenborough) is a late entry for Donington Park’s rounds with WDE Motorsport – pushing the UK Clio Cup grid there to 24 cars.
