Billy Redmayne

The organisers of the ‘Bob Smith Spring Cup Road Races’, the Auto 66 Club, regret to announce that solo rider Billy Redmayne lost his life as a result of an incident during the Spring Cup feature race on the Oliver’s Mount Course, Scarborough on Sunday 17th April.

Billy died of injuries received, when his motorcycle crashed along the top straight of the circuit. Billy Redmayne was taken to Scarborough & District Hospital by ambulance, then flown by air ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesburgh.

After an agonising 24 hours for Billy’s family, the painful decision was taken to switch of the life support machine and donate his organs for transplant. His liver and kidneys were matched immediately and help save further lives.

The Auto 66 Club extends its sincere condolences to families, relatives and friends at this very sad time. The organisers are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
