DAV Racing scorese Rookie EuroFormula Podium in Estoril

2016 season stated officially in Estoril for DAV Racing, with inaugural round of EuroFormula Open. The Italian squad run two Dallara F312 for already announced drivers Kang Ling and Daniele Cazzaniga. Week-end was characterized by good weather and optimal track conditions, with both DAV Racing guys able to run trouble free sessions in all race days. Unfortunate qualifying cost Chinese Kang the chance to score his first points in the GT Sport’s promoted series, as last year he made his debut just in the last rounds as wild card. In both races Kang made a strong start fighting without fear with other opponents, while Daniele Cazzaniga scored his maiden podium at his debut. With a 10th place as best result in race-1 on Saturday, Daniele took also the chance to be the third rookie in the standings, taking also one point for the overall standings.

Matteo Davenia, DAV Racing Team Manager“I’m happy about this week-end as the whole team made a good job. For sure we aimed for more points, but after all we can be satisfied. I have to say Daniele made a massive job as he did just few testing days during the winter, but I’m disappointed for Kang . I think he’s been the most unlucky driver of the week-end, but he showed a great potential as we can see from the data and chronological analysis. I’m confident we can improve ourselves since next round in Spa-Francorchamps, on 22nd May”.
