Positive performance from KCMG in Super Formula season opener at Suzuka

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) garnered encouraging results after concluding Super Formula’s opening round in 13th place at Suzuka Circuit over the weekend. Yuchi Nakayama began the season displaying strong pace and performance in the 43-lap outing of Japan’s most competitive single seater series.

Despite completing Saturday’s qualifying session in sixteenth place, the Toyota-backed Japanese driver’s performance the following day saw him wrap up the final free practice session in the top six. In dry circuit conditions, Nakayama delivered an impressive drive and moved several positions up the field, ultimately finishing Super Formula’s first race in thirteenth place.

Yuichi Nakayama: “Our first outing this year had its challenges, especially during the qualifying session. But overall it was a productive weekend and we managed to finish in P13 from sixteenth position on the starting grid. We have a long season ahead and my objective is to deliver points scoring finishes and hopefully, my first Super Formula podium.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Head of Motorsport: “Yuichi and the team worked hard over the weekend and despite the setback that we had during qualifying, Nakayama did an excellent job during the race. We’re looking to make more improvements as we go along the season and consistently finish the upcoming races in the points.”
