New challenge for Riccardo Agostini in Italian GT

PADOVA-BASED DRIVER WILL MAKE HIS OFFICIAL DEBUT AT THE WHEEL OF THE LAMBORGHINI HURACÁN GT3 LINED UP BY ANTONELLI MOTORSPORTMay 1 will mark the start of a new exciting challenge for Riccardo Agostini set to make his debut in the Italian GT. With the 2012 Italian F3 and 2015 Carrera Cup Italia titles under his belt, the 22-year-old driver is aiming for the top once again.

In 2016 Agostini entered the GT3 Junior Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, and now he is set to hit the track with the Huracán GT3 lined up by Antonelli Motorsport, sharing the wheel with the other rookie Alberto Di Folco, 2014 PRO-AM champion of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europa. The Agostini-Di Folco duo will fight in the Super GT3 class.

“I tested the new Huracán GT3 of Antonelli Motorsport a few days ago at Monza. For me, Alberto and all the team the car is still to be descovered, although we already now it has a huge potential as it showed last year in the Blancpain Endurance Series, claiming the victory in the opening round at Monza. I am sure that we could fight for the top positions. This is a very important season for me, in which a I will continue my path in the GT series with a top brand such as Lamborghini” - commented Agostini.

The Italian GT, nowaday is an important championship in Europe, with the participation of the most important factories and more than 40 cars at the start of the season. The round of Monza will be followed by Imola, Misano, Mugello, Vallelunga and again Imola and Mugello. All the races will be televised live in Italy by Rai Sport, including the two of Monza scheduled for Saturday at 4.45pm and Sunday at 12.10pm (CET), with the qualifying scheduled also on Saturday and free practice on Friday.
