Elegant, sophisticated and exclusive: Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition

New limited edition all-wheel drive five seater sports car with extensive features

The Porsche Cayenne has an enviable reputation built on its calibre as the sports car in the sports utility vehicle market segment. Around the world, the model continues to attract new customers and in 2015 enjoyed double-digit sales growth.

The new Porsche Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition feature distinctive and sporting qualities, with their specification highlighting driving dynamics, interior comfort and everyday ease of use.

Externally, 20-inch diameter alloy wheels in RS Spyder design housed in wider wheel arches hint at the poise and grip offered by the all-wheel drive chassis. Inside, leather sport seats with electric eight-way adjustment, Alcantara upholstery trim and the Porsche crest embossed on each head restraint, creates an appropriate ambience.

Standard equipment of the Cayenne Platinum Edition also includes Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) for targeted beam patterns when cornering, and front and rear ParkAssist. The latter system not only uses an audible beep to indicate the distance to objects or other cars in front and behind the vehicle; it also illustrates the direct surroundings on the central display of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) console.

The latest generation PCM system fitted to the Platinum Edition models offers on-line satellite navigation, the Connect Plus module offering expanded mobile connectivity. A BOSE® Surround Sound system with 14 speakers and 665 watt output provides enhanced audio entertainment. Heated front seats bring a further touch of luxury to both models, while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid also features a stationary heating/air conditioning system. This enables the car to be heated or cooled with the ignition off, as well as controlled via the Porsche Car Connect E-Mobility Services application.

The special status of these Cayenne models is underlined with stainless steel door sills with ‘Platinum Edition’ lettering, and illuminated door sills that light up the model name in the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition. Furthermore, the door mirrors and interior rear view mirror feature automatic dimming as standard, while tinted privacy glass provides additional discretion for rear passengers as well as emphasising the stylish silhouette of the car.

Non-metallic black and white paint finish is standard, with Deep Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White or Rhodium Silver metallic hues available as an option. The broadened wheel arches also come in the chosen body colour. The exclusive appearance is completed by a high-gloss exterior package on the body trim and window surrounds.

The 3.0-litre V6 engine in the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition has an output of 262 hp (193 kW) and offers up to 42.8 mpg Combined NEDC and 173 g/km CO2.

The combined output of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is 416 hp (306 kW), featuring a 333 hp supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and 95 hp parallel hybrid electric motor. Here, the perfect interplay between the petrol engine and electric motor can return up to 85.6 mpg Combined NEDC and 75 g/km CO2.

The Cayenne Platinum Edition models are available to order today from Porsche Centres in the UK and Ireland. First deliveries begin in June.

The Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition is priced from £55,134.00 RRP, while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition is priced from £66,919.00 RRP.

Customers will also be invited to explore the potential of their new car, and further develop their own skills behind the wheel, by participating in a bespoke driving experience around the tracks at the recently-expanded Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.
