SUNNY SANDOWN PARK HOSTS ROUND FOUR OF TW STEEL DMAX CHAMPIONSHIP

Less than half a second splits top 12 drivers at Surrey's premier kart circuitTW Steel DMAX Championship hots up as it speeds towards 2016 half-way point

Clear and sunny skies greeted the TW Steel DMAX hire-kart Championship when it returned to Daytona Sandown Park last Sunday (15th May) for its second visit this season, albeit this time, on the Alternate Circuit. The settled weather meant plenty of grip on the challenging 900m Esher track and there were no concerns this time about changeable conditions for the highly experienced DMAX drivers.

Daytona′ Motorsport's fleet of superb DMAX Rotax Max powered karts, as always, showed incredibly close lap times across all the classes throughout the day.

In the Heavies Endurance category, it was doubly exciting to see a Super Heavy driver manage second place against his lighter rivals on the track .... and the race also saw a well-earned victory for Tomasz Zaustowicz who snatched the top spot from DMAX front-runner Chris Carter - the 2015 series champion was left languishing in an unusual third.

As with the Lights, the top three drivers in Intermediates qualifying made up the same podium selection in the race. Trundley was very pleased with his win in this round as he has the ever-present Cousins chasing him hard this season.

Daytona Motorsport would like to thank all the drivers and looks forward to welcoming everyone to Daytona Milton Keynes for Round Five on 19th June.

Congratulations to the following on their DMAX Championship Round Four podiums:

In the DMAX Lights, qualifying also mirrored the eventual top three finishers in the race with series ace, Tom Golding once again landing on the podium's top step. Tim Sibley joined him on the second step and William Thomas on the third.
