Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse GT3 duo aim to finish on a high

BLACK BULL ECURIE ECOSSE heads into this weekend’s (Sept 10/11) final round of the British GT Championship at Donington Park — where it sealed the 2014 title — determined to finish the season on a high.

Both drivers, Alasdair McCaig and Rob Bell, are confident their McLaren 650S GT3 has the pace, performance and reliability to seal a top three finish in the season’s finale.“We’ve shown throughout the year that the car has the pace to mix it at the front of the British GT field,” Edinburgh racer, and team director, McCaig said.“We’ve already had one podium this season and, but for first-lap incidents at Spa and Snetterton, we would more than likely have added to that tally and ideally have had our first win."Hopefully the balance of performance will be good to us so we can challenge for a podium finish at the final round.“Obviously it’s disappointing that we’re not in contention for the championship this weekend, but we’ll definitely be doing everything we can to end the season on a high.“And McCaig’s views were backed up by team-mate, McLaren works driver Bell.“It’s the last race of the year, and actually Donington’s been one of the circuits I’ve been looking forward to all year,” the Newcastle racer said.“It’s fast, it’s flowing, it’s wide, and it’s a great track. I’m looking forward to getting back there. Hopefully we can go out, do our job, and enjoy it, which is what everyone always looks for first and foremost.“The whole team knows the levels of performance the McLaren 650S GT3 car is capable of. Hopefully we can maximise that and finish the season on the podium.”

They know they’re capable of at least another podium, and we’re right behind them all the way.”
