Stuart Jones, Cambrian Review

Stuart Jones added another title to his 2004 Peugeot 206 Super Cup when he contested the Dee Jays Cambrian Rally based in the North Wales town of Llandudno. The young Welshman driving his Proton Satria placed himself inside the top ten in the 1600cc machine to seventh place and the first two wheel drive machine. The result good enough to secure the Welsh National Rally Championship.Jones again partnered by his Wolverhampton co-driver, Richard Edwards kept a consistently quick pace throughout the day over the seven special timed tests, through the forests of Alwen, Clocaenog and Penmachno, also two loops of the Great Orme in Llandudno. His pace also included seventh quickest time over one of the gruelling stages.In 2004 the Welshpool driver has achieved one outright rally win on the Welsh International Rally, won the Peugeot 206 Super Cup and the Welsh National Rally Championship. Set fastest time on over half the special stages throughout the whole Peugeot series. This achieved in only his second full season in the sport and still only nineteen years of age. "Its been a very good year for us, we had to work hard in the Peugeot series. Although we have shown good pace in a variety of cars, having used the 206 in the Cup, the Proton in BRC and some Welsh rounds and also done a few events in four wheel drive."As for 2005, Jones is hoping for some new ventures."We have some ideas of what we want to do, but at present have not confirmed any plans, so its just a waiting game to see where we will be in the year ahead."
