There was just one moment of fear for the team that was managed by Team Manager Giovanni Minardi: Matteo Bobbi who was racing during the first phase of the race was caught in an accident. He was involuntarily hit head on by another competitor and flew off track.  Matteo Bobbi who was thrown off the Cart, was luckily unhurt and was able to continue the race.

Before the accident the AMD Opteron team was 3rd but after the accident they slid down to the 18th place.Without giving up, all the drivers memorably climbed their way up to the top when there were only 20 minutes left to go.

Once at the top, no other team was able to challenge AMD Opteron. In fact, Max Mugelli cut the finish line with a one lap advantage.
