MSA British Sporting Trials Championship

Round 2: Peter Blankstone Sporting Trial, 12 March

Duncan Stephens won the Peter Blankstone after a day-long battle with Andy Wilks at Shelsley Walsh.

The first round saw Wilks take the lead, but Stephens was biting at his heels ending the day on a tie-break.

Stephens took the win on count back, with Ian Veale finishing third. Simon Kingsley finished in fourth to take the championship lead. Peter McKinney won the intermediate class with fifth overall.

Link Up Ltd MSA British Autotest Championship

Round 1: Jon MacKenzie Autotest, 12 March

Richard Pinkney started the 2017 championship where he left off, winning the opening round at Curborough Sprint Course.

His Caterham Seven finished just seven seconds in front of Malcolm Livingston’s Lindsay Special, after 16 tests spread around the circuit.

Livingston was leading after the first four tests, with Dave Evans, Chris Chapman and Paul Fobister in close attendance.

The eight afternoon tests saw Evans fall back, putting pressure on to Livingston, who collected a five-second penalty on each of the last two rounds. Pinkney remained penalty free during the afternoon to start his 2017 title challenge in fine style, with Livingston, Chapman, and Evans all holding position to the finish.
