Mallock Sports plans OSRC campaign
Mallock Sports is one of the first teams to signal intentions to contest the BARC's new Open Sports Racing Cup in 2005. A two-car team of specially built front-engined Mallocks is planned for the new series, using all-enveloping bodywork and 280bhp engines."We've already had two serious enquiries from people who want to do a 'Panoz' on the British racing scene," reports Richard Mallock. "We've very excited about the new series and reckon that a front-engined car can be a very competitive proposition."Two Mk35 chassis are now in build for the project and are being designed to use the Leeson five-speed sequential gearbox, which is ideal for a front-engined installation."We've got various engine options, and we're aiming at around 280bhp," says Mallock. When added to the excellent handling of the front-engined Mallock, the sequential gearbox and all-enveloping bodywork, the new cars are set to be strong contenders in the new series.Mallocks previously won the National Supersports title twice and a lot of the experience gained in those programmes has been built into the latest Mk35 chassis.
