Jordan scores 62 podiums in debut season

62 podium finishes from 80 starts is the incredible record for Sutton Coldfield teenager Andrew Jordan in his first season of motorsport. Competing in Junior Rallycross, Andrew finished the 2004 season with victory in the junior division of the BTRDA Rallycross Championship and clinched fourth place in the British Junior Rallycross Championship.Although he was only 14 when the season began, Andrew has finished every one of the 80 races he has started. In those 80 races, which were contested at 20 meetings, he scored 24 wins, 20 second places and 18 third places. It is testament to his driving skill and the preparation of his Mini that he has finished each of the 80 races and only spun the car once after being hit by another car."It has been hugely more successful that we could have hoped," says Andrew, now 15 years old. "The season has certainly exceeded our expectations and I would really like to thank Bill Gwynne Rally School for its support and coaching."Andrew's speed and approach to the sport led to an invitation to join the Bill Gwynne Junior Rally Team and he is now the squad's youngest member. "I've certainly learnt a lot this year," says the teenager. "I'm getting a good grasp of how changes in the car affect the handling and I'm working on developing my technical skills," he says.
