Tickets are on sale to the general public for the 2005 Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the ticket renewal and upgrade process for 2004 customers is complete.
All fans – newcomers to the event and previous attendees – can order tickets online at .indianapolismotorspeedway.com, by calling the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700 or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area, or at the ticket office at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Parking and camping information also can be obtained through the ticket office.
The 12th Brickyard 400 is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 7 for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Jeff Gordon will attempt to become the first driver to win a race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway five times, as he earned his record fourth Brickyard 400 victory this year in the DuPont Chevrolet.
All of the top NEXTEL Cup superstars will race on the famed 2.5-mile oval, including 2004 season champion Kurt Busch, 2004 title contenders Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Indiana natives Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart, 2004 NEXTEL Cup Rookie of the Year Kasey Kahne and past Brickyard 400 winners Kevin Harvick, Ricky Rudd, Dale Jarrett and Bobby Labonte.
This also will be the last time fans can see former NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace race at the Brickyard 400 in the Miller Lite Dodge. Wallace is retiring after the 2005 season.
