FORMULA RENAULT & CLIO CUP TO BE REPRESENTED AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL 2005
Autosport International at Birmingham’s NEC will once again feature a presence from Renault Sport UK in 2005 after it was confirmed the manufacturer will host a joint-stand with partners ELF and Atol.
The show, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year, will run from Thursday, 13th January, until Sunday, 16th January, and Renault UK will take Formula Renault and Clio Cup cars which will be exhibited alongside several karts from the Renault-backed British Karting Championships in the karting hall of the annual motorsport extravaganza.
Renault Sport UK chose Autosport International last year to unveil the new-for-2004 Formula Renault car and at this year’s show competitors, teams and the public will once again have an opportunity to take a close-up look at the world’s foremost ‘slicks and wings’, junior single-seater.
In addition, the stand will feature a Clio Cup race car, Renault’s genuine ‘miniature’ touring car which produces speeds of around 140mph and provides the most action-packed racing in the country as a true feeder category for the world of touring car and GT racing.
Underlining the manufacturer’s commitment to grass roots motorsport, members of the Renault Sport UK organising team will be on hand throughout the show to offer information on Formula Renault UK, Clio Cup and also the new-for-2005 Formula Renault BARC Championship – the latter being a cost-effective, club-level alternative to the main series.
Furthermore, the Renault-backed British Karting Championships, and in particular Formula A, Formula JICA and Formula ICA, will be promoted on the stand with young hot-shoe drivers registering for the upcoming 2005 season at the show.
