The BRDC have clinched a deal with Bernie Ecclestone to keep the British Grand Prix on the F1 calendar for the next five years.
Following confirmation that the British Grand Prix will be staged at Silverstone for the next five years, John Grant, Chairman of the Motor Sports Association, governing body of motor sport in the UK, said:
“I would personally like to congratulate Bernie Ecclestone (FOA) and the BRDC on securing the future of the British Grand Prix for the next five years. This is fantastic news for everyone involved in British motor sport. Britain is viewed right around the world as the home of motor sport, and the British Grand Prix is the pinnacle of the UK motor racing calendar.
“Today’s news ends many months of uncertainty and is also a vital ingredient in ensuring the ongoing success of the UK’s world-leading motor sport industry.”
