An all-new two-car team called Trackspeed will contest the 2005 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. Team principal David Ashburn and Rory Fordyce will contest a full season in a pair of 911 GT3 Cup cars as the start of a multi-year campaign.Ashburn and Fordyce, who have both previously raced Ferraris, will handle a pair of 2004 cars acquired from the Kadach team in Germany and have already started a test programme. The team will be based in new premises at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey with Steve Moody as chief mechanic."It was my first time in a Porsche and there is a lot more to come, but I really enjoyed driving the car," reported Ashburn after his first test at Donington. "I suppose we should be in the top six and we're going to do a lot of testing in the New Year," says Ashburn, who has not raced for three seasons."We're absolutely doing a full season in Carrera Cup," says the 58-year old company director from London. Fordyce, meanwhile, who has extensive racing experience in Ferraris, was due to have his first test at Donington on Thursday (16 December).
