Entries paid plus television coverage for Pickups in 2005
The 2005 Pickup Truck racing calendar has been announced and comprises ten race weekends, each with two races. As in previous seasons, drivers will not pay entry fees to race in the championship and there will be a 12 episode TV series to bring the action into the homes of millions of potential race fans.
At the heart of the championship calendar are six ‘Thunder Sunday’ dates with SCSA at Rockingham on the first Sunday of each month from May to October. The oval theme is maintained with a return to Mallory Park where four races will be held over two separate race days. In addition the Pickups retain their slot on the International Truck Festival at Thruxton and also make a welcome return to Brands Hatch.
“We want to offer drivers and race fans the best entertainment and value for money possible,” says Pickup Truck Racing’s director, Sonny Howard. “The quality of the racing has always spoken for itself on track, but with drivers’ entry fees paid once again and further value added with the television deal in place, we firmly believe this is one of the most attractive packages in UK motor sport.”
Full details of the television package will be announced shortly.
