Klien and Liuzzi join Red Bull

Red Bull Racing has signed  Austria’s Christian Klien and Italy’s Vitantonio Liuzzi to drive alongside David Coulthard for the 2005 season.

Klien and Liuzzi, who have identical contracts for 2005, will be testing as well as racing.

David Coulthard, 33, has lots to offer: his style and experience from 175 Grand Prix races, 13 victories and a second place in the F1 championship. Klien, who got his first Formula 1 experience in 2004, just turns 22 on February 7. In 2005 he is expected to be the youngest driver in Formula 1. And at 23, Liuzzi, who easily took the Formula 3000 championship title in 2004, will also be among the youngest drivers in F1 this year.

The two rising stars from the Red Bull Junior Team have signed one- year contracts, with an option in both cases for renewal. After the tests in January and February, the team management will decide which of the two will join David Coulthard in Melbourne for the first Grand Prix race of the new season on March 6.

Red Bull Racing’s next tests will be staged in Barcelona starting February 18. The 2005 car will be presented to the public in Jerez on February 7.
