Today's Stage 8 , to be run between Tichit and Tidjikja, has been cancelled by the organisation due to safety reasons. The extremely reduced visibility has blocked part of the helicopters. This morning at 10 o'clock (11.00 CET), 96 bikes, 59 cars and 27 trucks had made it to Tichit, finishing point of stage 7. 31 participants have officially retired from the race in last stage.

As a consequence, the race direction has taken the following decisions:1. Cancellation of the Tichit-Tidjikja special2. The time limit for stage 7 is increased for all participants3. Participants will complete today's stage as a liaison to TidjijkjaAll Repsol bikers and drivers (cars and trucks) arrived in Tichit with no news.
