Visitors to the Autosport show are being offered a unique opportunity to win a drive in a national championship race thanks to the Dunlop Race Academy.
The first Dunlop Race Academy took place in 2004, with intense battling through the heats and finals, before Andy Walker was crowned Dunlop Race Academy winner. In his prize drive in the Ginetta Championship, he fought his way into a promising midfield position before spinning out.
"The 2004 Academy was a major success. With a staggering 7000 entries, it really caught the imagination of those wanting to get on the grid. Dunlop have built their reputation in competition for over a century, by always striving to be the fastest, the safest and the best. We are now offering a driver with the same credentials the chance to win this unique opportunity to get on the grid" said Dunlop's James Bailey.
The winner will also be flown to Monte Carlo to live the life of a star driver for the weekend. "Motorsport is about more than just late braking and intense duelling. The Race Academy winner will have an image to live up to. To win in the Race Academy, the winner will need to be as sharp at the after race party as they are on the track, with photoshoots, journalists tracking their progress and interviews to attend" added James
This summer, seven winners from this competition will attend the Dunlop Race Academy for tuition from Calum Lockie, British GT Champion and Le Mans 24 Hour competitor. Following in the footsteps of Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Damon Hill and other British racing idols, Dunlop will be looking for dashing talent and effortlessly stylish speed.
The finest three will be invited back for a final head to head shoot out, where they will pitch their talents against each other on the track.
"In finding a new racing talent, Dunlop are offering a unique prize, but also putting something back into the sport by offering this opportunity to members of the public who would normally find the cost of entry into competitive motorsport to be prohibitive" added James.
