4 Formulas in action at Wimbledon

Spedeworth South  hosts a great value for money’s night of racing at Wimbledon Stadium, January 30th, at the new family-friendly start time of 5pm, when the all-action Superstox, Lightning Rods, Rookie Bangers and Rookie Rods take to the circuit.

The Rookie Banger pilots will be hurling their stripped out old wrecks around the famous Plough Lane circuit to delight the crowd with non-stop shunts, barges and out and out automotive destruction as the intrepid pilots try to keep their old bangers going long enough to see the chequered flag fall.

The vastly entertaining Superstox will deliver more thrills and spills as their drivers power around the track and put their front bumpers to good use as they work their way through the pack.

Non-contact racing action is provided courtesy of the Rookie Rods. These budget racers have proved very popular in luring fans off the terraces and on to the track. Engine size is capped, as are the modifications allowed for racing, leading to some great action as the evenly matched cars tear around Plough Lane.

Rounding off what promises to be another night of action-packed racing, the Lightning Rods return for another session of high-powered, bumper-to-bumper racing.

The Lighting Rods are officially a non-contact formula, but the sheer size of the Ford Sierra based machines and the drivers steely refusal to back off the throttle normally results in plenty of fender bending wrecks, before the evening’s racing is over.  Once a pack of these cars has been witnessed in full flight, spectators can appreciate why they are nicknamed ‘Frightening Rods.’

With four thrilling formulas in action, plus the new start time of 5pm, Spedeworth South delivers another great night’s racing for all the family at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain’s finest stock car racing circuit.
