A Fundraising Gala Evening in aid of Laurie Squirrelis to be held on Friday 4 March 2005, at the HiltonBirmingham Metropole Hotel, National ExhibitionCentre.

16-year-old Laurie from Stowmarket, near Ipswich,was the UK's top female Motocross rider, whotragically broke her back at the USA LadiesNational Championships in December 2004 and isnow paralysed from the chest down.

The aim of this evening is to raise sufficient fundsto help Laurie and her family cope with the financialcosts of trying to carry on with as normal life aspossible, such as converting their home so thatLaurie can get about more freely and have a betterquality of home life.

It is hoped the event will have the backing ofseveral celebrities and sports personalities, whoare pledging their support to the evening. In addition,an auction is to be held during the evening which willinclude items such as a trip to Las Vegas (for the lastround of the Supercross Championship) among manyothers.
