Taggarts support BEN

MOTOR GROUP PUTS BEN WELFARE OFFICER IN THE DRIVING SEAT

Taggarts Motor Group, the Scottish division of Lookers Plc, have shown their support for BEN, the Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund by providing a MG ZR to be used by BEN's new Welfare Officer Peter Tuckfield.  BEN's Welfare Team frequently visit beneficiaries, in need of financial or emotional support, in their own homes so it is vital that they have adequate transportation.  Stephen Jay, Operations Director at Taggarts said: "We at Taggarts Motor Group are extremely proud to be supporting BEN and one of its dedicated Welfare Officers.  The BEN Welfare Team provides support to those in need in our industry and we hope that this gesture shows our appreciation of their work."

Maureen Lynch, BEN's Regional Manager for Scotland commented: "Good, reliable transportation is vital to the work of our Welfare Team as it allows them to reach the thousands of people that require BEN's help every year.  As we celebrate our Centenary it is more important than ever for BEN to receive support from the industry.  Taggarts are an excellent example of this and we are extremely grateful to them for their contribution."

BEN is the motor and allied trades benevolent fund for employees past and present (and their dependents) from the motor, cycle, motorcycle, commercial vehicle and agricultural engineering industries plus all associated trades, organisations and industries. Founded in 1905, the fund provides practical help, support, advice and friendship to more than 15,000 men and women and their families every year, in addition to operating four residential homes in the UK and offering day care facilities at their centre in Coventry.
