Rod and banger action at Wimbledon

Spedeworth South hosts a night of racing action at Wimbledon Stadium on Sunday, February 20th at 5pm when the all-action Rookie Bangers, Lightning Rods, Rookie Rods and Ministox take to the famous Plough Lane circuit.

The Rookie Bangers always deliver a memorable night's racing at Wimbledon as their intrepid pilots seek to keep their battered old wrecks alive long enough to cross the finish line - not an easy task with a large grid of cars and drivers who are as keen to wipe out the opposition as they are to win the race.More fast and extremely furious action is on the cards when the Lightning Rods return to Plough Lane for another session of bumper-to-bumper racing. The Ford Sierra-based Lightning Rods really live up to their name, delivering no holds barred racing that very often leaves cars from this officially non-contact formula as smoking wrecks scattered around the raceway.

The Rookie Rods will also be in action on the night. Designed to offer race fans, who lack a F1 sized budget, the chance to join the action the budget priced racers always field a large grid of cars. While the drivers may not spend as much on their cars as the other Hot Rod formulas this does not affect the action on the night as the evenly matched 1300-1400cc machines tear around Plough Lane.

Rounding off what promises to be another night of action-packed racing, the Ministox will take to the track for their second Wimbledon outing of 2005. The armoured Minis, driven by 11-16 year olds, are the training formula for youngsters aspiring to a career on the oval tracks. While the drivers may be young, they often deliver as much action as the 'senior' formulas as they put on a great show while sharpening their skill behind the wheel.

With four formulas in action, offering everything from non contact action to the guaranteed pile ups from the Rookie Bangers, Spedeworth South delivers another great night's racing for all the family at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain's finest stock car racing circuit.
