RACES IN THE SPOTLIGHT: C1 BY DUNCAN HAMILTON ROFGO FOR ORIGINAL FACTORY GROUP C1 CARS PLUS, BBMF FLYPASTS FOR DHF 2022!

When ‘Group C’ appeared in 1982, it took the world by storm – a storm that lasted for ten iconic and dramatic seasons. Factory teams from Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Peugeot and Lancia, combined with legendary liveries and the world’s finest drivers, defined an era that will simply never be matched. 2022 also celebrates 30 years since the World Sportscar Championship last visited Donington Park. For this double celebration, Duncan Hamilton ROFGO are putting together the finest grid of C1-class cars seen for 30 years, for two 40-minute races at DHF 2022.

What can we see?
Picture it... 30 factory C1 cars thundering down the Craner Curves on lap one – filling the amphitheatre with the sound of ground-shaking naturally-aspirated V8s, V10s and V12s, plus whistling, flaming, turbocharged flat-six, V6 and V8s.

When to see them at DHF 2022

Saturday 30 April Qualifying 10:25-10:55, Race 1 15:40-16:20; Sunday 1 May Race 2 14:15-14:55

EYES TO THE SKIES!

You'll need to tear your eyes away from the track action at this year's Festival and up into the skies , when we have not one but two flypasts from the fantastic Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF)!

Saturday's flypast (time to be confirmed) will feature two iconic WW2 fighters - a Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane, while we'll be graced with a lone Hurricane on the Sunday (time to be confirmed).

One of the most beautiful aircraft ever built, the Spitfire is chiefly remembered as the symbol of the Battle of Britain. Developed by Supermarine's brilliant chief designer, R.J. Mitchell, it was the only British aircraft model in continuous construction throughout World War II.

The Hurricane may not have the same almost mythical glamour that the Spitfire possesses, but it played an equally critical role in the Battle of Britain. In fact, Hurricanes destroyed more enemy aircraft in the battle than all the other aircraft and ground defences combined. There are only 12 airworthy Hurricanes left in the world, and the BBMF is the custodian of two of them.
