Classic Car Auctions are offering for sale on behalf of the owner an outstanding, extraordinary and possibly unrepeatable Audi Quattro 20V, one of the last to be built.
This Audi is one that has to be seen to be believed, the condition of this 1990 model is quite remarkable, as is the mileage at just over 32,000.
These Audis have in recent years been taking the auction houses by storm and Classic Car Auctions have been at the centre of some record-breaking prices.
Gary Dunne CCA Sales Manager commented: “We are all totally amazed by this Audi. It is such an amazing car, and thank the vendor for choosing us to offer it on their behalf.
In recent years we have sold some quite outstanding Audi Quattros, setting a world record in 2021. This car is very well placed to achieve a similar result.
The prices for these cars have been going up and up and when a car like this comes to market, we all get very excited as it shows that there are cars out there that have been cherished all their lives. CCA are delighted to have been chosen, the vendor is well aware of our history in achieving great results for these cars, and although it was hard for him to say goodbye after 32 years of ownership, there could be a fairytale ending.”
The Audi Quattro is synonymous with rallying. They were driven by some of the top world rally drivers with Hannu Mikkola and Stig Blomqvist taking the 1983 and 1984 World Rally Championship, and Michele Mouton was the first female driver to win a world championship rally piloting an Audi Quattro. They also took the constructors title in 1984. As a result of their success in rallying, Audi’s Quattro system proved to be one of the best and is now used on everyday road-going cars throughout their current range.
This 1990 Audi Quattro 20V was delivered by the local Audi dealer to the vendor’s home after he asked them to find him one. It was supplied directly from VAG as a management car with 4,231 miles on the clock back in November 1990.
Forward 32 years and the car is still in absolutely stunning condition, with just over 32,000 miles on the clock. The history file is very comprehensive with every MOT from new confirming the mileage, original black Audi Wallet with stamped service schedule and related information. It also comes with the 1990 price list and Audi branded dust cover used to cover the car which was always garaged.
The vendor has also included some memorabilia, a 1987 RAC road atlas and an Eric Clapton cassette which can be used in the original Blaupunkt radio cassette player.
The engine bay, though not detailed, shows the car has been very well cared for throughout its life, and for 32 years old is simply impressive.
Gary continued: “It did amuse us when the car arrived with some historically relevant memorabilia, but it also shows how much this car has been treasured. There is also a Quattro Collection brochure and a Moments booklet issued in 2005 to celebrate 25 years of the original Quattro. This is possibly the most original Quattro Turbo available today.”
“Coinciding with this car we are delighted to welcome Mike Brewer, who will be previewing our auctions for the rest of this year and will be featuring this Audi in a few weeks time.”
Mike Brewer of Mike Brewer Motoring commented: “I am delighted to be working with CCA providing auction previews, selecting some of the cars being offered at their forthcoming sales. We will be filming some of the Lots in the lead up to auction day and the final preview will be published on Mike Brewer Motoring and across our social media channels. This stunning Audi Quattro will be one of our chosen cars to preview in the Summer sale on the 18th June, so to find out more, tune in.”
