Fiskens to Donate Proceeds of Its Citroën Dolly, Presented at Gooding & Company’s London Auction, to Ukraine-Based Charity Aiding Children and Families

A 1987 Citroën 2CV6 Dolly from the personal collection of Gregor Fisken will be auctioned in support of war-afflicted children and families in Ukraine.

Santa Monica, Calif. (29 July 2022) — The official auction partner of the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, Gooding & Company, has announced a special lot for its upcoming London Auction, taking place on 3 September 2022. The globally renowned auction house will present a 1987 Citroën 2CV6 Dolly on behalf of the owner of London-based Fiskens LTD, the foremost dealer of fine historic automobiles, at its upcoming event this September. The consignor has committed to donate its full proceeds from the sale to Voices of Children, a non-profit organization working to help children and families affected by the trauma of the war in Ukraine.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to present this Citroën Dolly, cherished by Gregor and the Fisken family, at our upcoming London Auction,” said Gooding & Company President and Founder, David Gooding. “It is an honor to not only transfer this darling car to its next custodian, but most importantly, to assist in Gregor’s goal of aiding the Ukrainian children and families who have suffered from the tragedies of war.”

“Whilst so much of the world seems to have returned to normal, we simply cannot ignore the horrible events in Ukraine. Our hearts go out to those whose lives will be forever changed by this needless war,” said Fiskens LTD Founder, Gregor Fisken. “We’ve been thinking on ways we can help and to that end, we are going to auction our family Citroën 2CV6 Dolly and donate our entire proceeds. It has given my family a lot of joy and we hope the money that it raises will help families in need.”

A special edition of the iconic French Citroën 2CV, the Dolly was introduced in 1985 with a limited production run of 3,000 examples. The immediate success of these charming and desirable cars led to a second release of 2,000 examples later that year, with a final batch in 1986 culminating in a total of 10,000 production cars built. Stylish yet practical, the Dolly, powered by a 602 cc, air-cooled flat-twin engine coupled with a four-speed gearbox, quickly garnered a cult following. Its signature two-tone design has become easily recognizable not only across the UK, but worldwide, where the car remains a beloved gem for many.

The example presented here was sold new to an owner in Scotland, who enjoyed the car locally for 32 years, accruing limited miles. In 2019, Gregor Fisken, the Founder of Fiskens LTD and a prominent figure in the automotive and racing worlds, purchased the Dolly with the intent to use it to transport his children to and from school. During its time in the current ownership, the Dolly was thoroughly enjoyed by the consignor’s family and loved ones, its very essence embodying the “old car scene” in a fun and unpretentious manner.

Displaying just over 19,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, this 2CV6 Dolly is being offered for sale, and the consignor plans to donate 100% of his sale proceeds to the Ukraine-based Voices of Children. The non-profit organization supports Ukrainian children and families that have been affected by the war in Ukraine, providing psychological resources to children and financial support to families who have suffered as a result of the war. Championing the need to help families in need, Gregor Fisken noted, “I hope our Dolly can help these families and bring them some comfort, a fine testament indeed to the joy it has brought our family over the years.”

The 1987 Citroën 2CV6 Dolly presented here will cross the auction block at Gooding & Company's London Auction on 3 September 2022. Interested parties unable to attend the auction in person are encouraged to participate remotely via telephone, online, or absentee bidding, or with Gooding & Company's mobile app.
