Twelve minutes of adventure, without a single word, filmed like cinema. Settle in: you'll understand why we come back every year.

Choose your adventure

More than 400 vehicles and 800 people form a caravan that sets off into the wild, across Africa's vast open spaces. Professionals and passionate amateurs share the same route and the same goal: reaching Dakar.

Modern Race

The full race format: performance, navigation and rankings.

Car / Bike / Quad / SSV / Truck

Historic Race

Historic Race A sporting-pace race for vehicles before 2007, alternating regularity, speed and navigation zones. Precision and driving skills count as much as the clock.

Car / Truck

Raid

Two formats to experience the road to Dakar at your own pace.

Raid Evo

The stepping stone to racing: the ideal way to discover the demands of rally-raid before moving up to Modern Race.

Raid Travel

Rally-raid in discovery mode: the whole road to Dakar, without the pressure of the clock.

Car / Bike / Quad / SSV / Truck

Starting from Tangier on January 24, the route heads south through Morocco and the great deserts of Mauritania, then finishes where the legend was born: in Dakar, on the shores of Lac Rose, on February 6.

2027 route map: start in Tangier on January 24, Meknes, Erfoud, M'Hamid, Assa, Laayoune, Dakhla (rest day on January 30), Aghouinit, Tabrankout, Teveritt, Mpal, finish in Dakar on February 6

Created by those who wrote history

Jean-Louis Schlesser

Hubert Auriol

René Metge

Three great names of African rally-raid founded the Africa Eco Race with one idea: to preserve the spirit of the origins.

Jean-Louis Schlesser, two-time winner of the Paris-Dakar in 1999 and 2000, still directs the race. Here, navigation, endurance and the human adventure matter as much as speed.
