IN THE TROFEO VODAFONE MASERATI RACE AT SILVERSTONEThis weekend, the Silverstone circuit will host the fourth Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa 2005 race. The one-make championship returns to the historic English circuit for the third consecutive year. In 2003 Emanuele Smurra claimed the victory, while in 2004 Vicki Butler-Henderson and Matthew Marsh shared the top step of the podium. 5th Gear TV presenter Vicki, who was the first woman to score a victory for Maserati, will be back behind the wheel of a Maserati Trofeo GranSport this year, sharing her car with former Offshore World Champion Jean Marc Giraldi.Johnny Herbert, having driven the MC12 in the FIA GT championship last season, makes a welcome comeback. The ex-Formula 1 driver will share the drive with supermodel Jodie Kidd.British drivers have performed very well so far in the Trofeo Championship, having scored two victories: Alex Buncombe in Monza and Maurizio Fabris in Imola.Alberto Cerrai leads the overall classification with 61 points. He is followed by Notter/Cattori (53 points) and Maurizio Fabris (50 points).
