Contingency Sponsorship Tops $2.5M

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 22, 2007) – As the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve and Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series gets underway at Daytona International Speedway this weekend, Grand-Am has secured more than $2.5 million in posted contingency sponsorships and awards.

A total of 33 companies have posted contingency awards for Grand-Am competition in 2007, including 27 in the Rolex Series and 20 in the KONI Challenge, with 14 partners posting awards in both series. Contingency sponsorship in the Rolex Series totals $1,680,670, while the KONI Challenge tallies $977,950.

“The great partners we have clearly see the value of Grand-Am racing,” said Grand American Road Racing Association President Roger Edmondson. “Our competitors put forth endless time and energy to make our racing perhaps the most competitive in the world, and through these contingency awards, are rewarded for their hard work and success on the track.”

Contingency packages are still being accepted, and all indications point to a complete list toppling $3 million in 2007. A list of confirmed contingency sponsors can be found at www.grand-am.com.
