The Piquet Sports Venezuelan driver was the fastest this morning in a 1:27.868 in Barcelona during the second testing of the 2008 GP2 Main Series.
After last week’s very encouraging first run of the 2008 GP2 chassis in Paul Ricard, the 13 teams gathered this week in Barcelona for a second two-day testing. The opening of the 2008 championship will take place on this same track on the 26th of April.
Though the session was stopped by a few red flags, nothing out of the ordinary happened. Pastor Maldonado topped the timing sheet after the three-hour morning session, very closely followed by iSport International Bruno Senna, ART Grand Prix Luca Filippi and rookie Kamui Kobayashi at the wheel of his Dams car. The first 18 cars posted times within a second of each other. The Afternoon session will start at 2pm local time.
