Porsche Open Season Starts at Donington

Donington Park on Easter Monday hosts the first round of the 2008 Porsche Open series, with the series as ever providing a home to some of the most exciting racing Porsches seen today. A series of races rather then a championship - new for 2008 is the award of the one-off Porsche Carrera Cup GB drive to the 'Driver of the Series' at the end of the year, giving every driver on the grid something to race for over the season.

A 25-minute race round the East Midlands circuit starts off the Porsche Open season, and Class One once more sees an intriguing mix of outright power versus refined handling. The amiable Yorkshireman moved up from Class Three at the mod-point of the 2007 season, took a race win at Silverstone, and is always in the thick of the action. The Class Two pace will be set by the 996 GT3 Cup car of Paul Winter, who will be eager to get amongst the Class One cars.
